THE FIRST SESSION
You might be feeling very anxious...
It is completely normal to feel anxious, especially if this is your first experience of Counselling. It may take a while for you to get used to the situation but almost all clients report feeling significantly more at ease as the session goes along. You may feel very tearful, often this can be from relief as much as sadness and that is OK.

GET TO KNOW ME
I was born in Bath in 1980, and have always lived in the beautiful Wiltshire area. I am a mother of two and an animal lover. I have had many life experiences that enable me to feel great empathy for others.
I am qualified to Level 5 in integrative Therapeutic Counselling, this means I am trained in multiple therapeutic approaches to this work. I am registered with the BACP Counselling body and I work to their code of ethics and guidelines. I have previously worked as a counsellor for Wiltshire Mind, and for Families Out Loud - a charity that helps the loved ones of people struggling with addiction.
I work from a lovely spacious room at the East Wing Practice in Westbury. I also offer online sessions. I am hardworking and passionate about what I do. I will offer you a warm, accepting and non-judgemental space to be completely yourself and I offer you the support and compassion you need to work through your problems.
I have a special interest in Internal Family systems Therapy (IFS) I recently attended a Master Class seminar with the founder Dr Richard Schwartz. This is the idea that we are all made up of parts, and some parts may want different things than others, some parts are wounded and stuck in the past while other parts wish to move on, or are angry at the stuck parts for example. Giving each part space/love/acceptance can offer real healing and movement.
